We are a small breeder located in the country with grown children, grandchildren, dogs, horses, and cats. We love all animals and have been raising French Bulldogs for 14 years. All of our dogs are Genetic Health Tested for over 200 ailments. We also perform OFA testing for Heart, Eyes, Knees, and Hips. Our dogs are always underfoot, help with chores, and are a big part of our family. We only raise a few litters a year and believe that good breeding, socialization, and great care are essential in the first months of life. We strive to make happy and healthy puppies!
French Bulldogs, often affectionately called "Frenchies," are renowned for their charming and expressive faces, featuring adorable bat-like ears and large, expressive eyes.
Despite their small stature, French Bulldogs have big personalities. They are known for their playful and affectionate nature, making them excellent companions for families, singles, and seniors alike.
French Bulldogs are a relatively low-maintenance breed, with a short coat that requires minimal grooming. Their compact size also makes them well-suited for apartment living.
Due to their endearing qualities and loving temperament, French Bulldogs have become one of the most popular dog breeds worldwide, capturing the hearts of dog lovers everywhere.
French Bulldogs, often called "Frenchies," actually have their roots in England. They were originally bred as miniature Bulldogs in the early 19th century. They gained popularity in France when lace workers from Nottingham, England, migrated to France, bringing their small Bulldogs with them. Over time, the breed was refined in France and became known as the French Bulldog.
French Bulldogs are known for their affectionate and playful nature. They are generally friendly, loyal, and make excellent companions. They tend to be good with children and can adapt well to various living situations, including apartments. However, they can also be a bit stubborn at times, so consistent training and positive reinforcement are important.
French Bulldogs can get along well with other pets, including dogs and cats, if they are socialized properly from a young age. Early socialization helps them develop positive relationships with other animals. However, some French Bulldogs may have a strong prey drive, so supervision is recommended when introducing them to smaller pets like rabbits or birds.
Yes, French Bulldogs are prone to certain health issues due to their flat faces and compact bodies. Common health concerns include brachycephalic syndrome (breathing difficulties), hip dysplasia, skin allergies, and eye problems. Additionally, they are sensitive to extreme heat and cold because of their short noses, so it's essential to take precautions in extreme weather conditions.
French Bulldogs are a small breed, with adult dogs typically weighing between 16 to 28 pounds (7 to 13 kilograms) and standing about 11 to 12 inches (28 to 31 centimeters) tall at the shoulder. Their lifespan typically ranges from 10 to 12 years, but with proper care and attention to their health, they can sometimes live longer.
